Ortahisar Castle is an impressive structure in the Ortahisar region of Cappadocia and is known as the largest fairy chimney in the region. Located in the center of Cappadocia, right in the heart of Ortahisar, this castle is historically significant for being one of the first multi-storey settlements in the region. Surrounded by steep valleys on three sides, the castle is 6 km from Ürgüp, 15 km from Nevşehir and only 4.5 km from Göreme Open Air Museum.

The castle offers visitors spectacular views along with its historical atmosphere. Those who climb to reach the summit can get a bird's eye view of the region's unique fairy chimneys and lush green valleys.
